Questions for 11/12/24 Webinar at 11 a.m. CT - Holy Rhythms: Our Spiritual Formation as the Body of Christ with Matt Thomas

Here are questions that could guide our discussion on Advent, the church calendar, and spiritual formation.  You can choose what you are interested in, feel is important, relevant, or most comfortable with.

 1. “In what ways can ministers lead their congregations to embrace Advent as a season of preparation and reflection, rather than simply a countdown to Christmas?”

 2. “How does observing Advent shape our spiritual formation differently than other seasons in the church calendar, like Lent or Pentecost?”

 3. “What role do traditional Advent practices, such as lighting candles or daily readings, play in forming a deeper sense of anticipation and spiritual awareness among believers?”

 4. “How can understanding Advent as part of the larger church calendar help us develop a year-round rhythm for spiritual formation?”

 5. “With the busyness of the holiday season, what practical advice do you have for individuals or families to fully engage with Advent as a time of waiting and preparation?”

 6. “How does Advent help us reflect on the concept of ‘already, but not yet’ in our faith, and why is this important for spiritual growth?”

 7. “What are some creative ways that congregations can incorporate Advent themes of hope, peace, joy, and love into community life and spiritual formation practices?”

 8. “How can ministers address the cultural pressure for instant gratification during Advent and instead guide their communities to embrace its slower, reflective pace?”
