Practicing Presence: On Formation, Practice, and Becoming Spiritual Directors

Spiritual direction training is as much about who we are becoming as it is about what we are learning to do. In this webinar, spiritual directors in training open a window into their own formation—especially their experience of receiving spiritual direction as a foundational practice. What happens when they sit on the other side of the conversation? How does being deeply listened to shape their awareness of God, themselves, and others?

As they engage the rhythms of training, these emerging directors are learning to attend with greater care—to their own stories, to the movement of the Spirit, and to the sacred trust of listening without control. We’ll explore what they are discovering about discernment, presence, and the slow work of transformation.
