Vocation is often understood as a calling to a particular role, career, or ministry. Yet our sense of calling is rarely static. As we move through different seasons of life, our priorities, responsibilities, gifts, and opportunities change—and so does the way we live out God's invitation. What does it mean to remain faithful to our calling when life changes? How do we discern God's voice not only at the beginning of the journey but throughout its many chapters?

Dr. Joann Butrin began her missions career as a registered nurse serving in the Democratic Republic of Congo for 14 years. In 1987, she joined CompassionLink (then known as HealthCare Ministries), later becoming the director. In 2005, she became the director of International Ministries for the Assemblies of God World Missions. She became the director of CompassionLink again in 2016 while still serving as director for International Ministries. Dr. Butrin, having achieved a PhD in community health, has taken a keen interest in a holistic approach to missions, sustainable development, community health, HIV/AIDS, and social justice. Having retired from her role as Director of International Ministries, she now serves as COO and Team Lead for Health Initiatives at CompassionLink and is currently serving as the Interim Director of CompassionLink.

Dr. Bill Hennessy has served for decades in pastoral ministry, missions, church planting, and academia around the globe. Bill is currently pastoring an international church and believes that God intends for people from all backgrounds and all cultures to worship God and to find community. Through the minsitry of Life360 All Nations, members form a cultural collage of Jesus as their identities in Him represent a number of cultural backgrounds.Since its founding, Life360 All Nations has celebrated diversity and intentional community involvement.

Troy A. Compton has lived a life marked by service, leadership, and innovation. Beginning work in his family’s general store at age five, he went on to serve as a pastor, retail executive, college administrator, and business consultant. After studying ministry at Central Bible College and pastoring two churches, he built a successful 30-year career with Montgomery Ward, rising through increasingly senior management roles across the Midwest and ultimately serving in Detroit. Later, as Vice President and Treasurer of Central Bible College, he led the development of one of Springfield’s largest integrated computer systems, modernizing the college’s accounting, enrollment, grading, and communications operations. Even after retirement, he helped reorganize and refinance a manufacturing company, contributing to significant growth. Now 96, Troy remains active, enjoys a large family that includes six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and continues to invest in the spiritual lives of others through his involvement in establishing a chapel community at his senior living residence. His wife, Marjorie, with whom he shared 72 years of marriage, passed away in 2022.
